Firing blanks on both the rides -Tadoba 5
Tiger Trails and Tall Tales – Episode Five
Sighting a tiger or any big fellow is not a guarantee every time you enter the jungles. The day was quite sultry and hot. We drew a blank in the morning despite our best efforts. The heat put off the big cats and the other denizens of the jungle. The birds also took a holiday. We decided to concentrate on the landscapes and other features of the jungle.
Post lunch the afternoon ride was no better. Still there were no signs of the big cats or even a leopard or a sloth bear. The spotted deer, sambars around the lake and a sunning crocodile made us smile.
As we were homing back after a disappointing day, magic happened. The sun was setting and we were close to the Tadoba Lake. Seeing a few sambars and other deer in the water, we stopped to shoot a few frames.
We witnessed an amazing sunset and shot some lovely silhouettes. An oriental honey buzzard perched close by gave a good pose to round up the day.
We have split the mystical, magical memories of tiger trails and tall tales into a series of blog posts. You can click on these links to read – Tadoba – Tiger Trails and Tall Tales series .
